Job Description
The Chief Engineer for Battery Systems will lead the development and integration of advanced battery technologies, overseeing the entire lifecycle from design to production while ensuring alignment with business goals and industry standards. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and maintain the company's competitive edge in the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Orchestrate the entire battery system development process.
- Align technical development with overall business strategy.
- Oversee the complete lifecycle of battery systems.
- Lead the selection of battery cell technology and related systems.
- Drive research into new battery technologies and continuous improvement.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the battery engineering team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Extensive experience in battery system design and development, preferably within the automotive, aerospace, or energy storage sectors.
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing engineering teams and cross-functional projects.
- Expertise in battery chemistry, thermal management, power electronics, and Battery Management System (BMS).
- Strong understanding of the business implications of technical decisions and the ability to align technology with business goals.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to battery safety and performance.
- Very good English and German language skills.
- Willingness to travel.
