Job Description

The role involves assisting with drilling operations for geothermal energy projects, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of drilling equipment, performing routine maintenance, and supporting the drilling team with various tasks on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead driller in daily drilling operations, including setting up and operating drilling equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment during the drilling process, ensuring proper functioning and troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Handle and prepare drilling tools, pipes, and other equipment for use during operations.
  • Transport equipment and materials to and from the drill site as needed.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure the worksite is organized and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the operation of mud systems, pressure control equipment, and other drilling-related systems.
  • Keep accurate records of daily drilling activities, including work progress, downtime, and equipment performance.
  • Support the team with general labor tasks, such as setting up rig structures and managing materials.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on tools and equipment.
  • Ensure that proper safety and environmental standards are met during all phases of drilling operations.
  • Communicate effectively with the drilling team and report any issues or concerns to the supervisor promptly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Must have an OSHA 30 SST card and Flagger certification strongly preferred.
  • Must have an active Driver's License with the ability to obtain CDL.
  • Prior experience operating drilling equipment is a must.
  • 5 years of construction and/or drilling experience either NY, NJ, CT, MA.
  • Understands and follows utility locate law and compliance procedures, safety protocols, instructions, and quality regulations.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position.
  • All Brightcore Energy positions require a pre-employment background check that includes prior employment verifications, a criminal history check, and a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be willing to be away from home for extended periods of time.
  • An Employee must work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week to maintain full-time status for benefits purposes.

Benefits & Perks

Compensation/salary range: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
Work schedule: Minimum of 30 hours per week, average of 40 hours with overtime required
