Job Description
A Senior Tax Analyst role responsible for managing federal and state income tax filings, conducting tax research and analysis, preparing forecasts, supporting audits, and identifying tax savings strategies within a dynamic corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and maintain schedules and checklists for federal and state income tax filings
- Analyze information for preparing federal and state income tax returns
- Perform monthly reconciliation of tax accounts to the general ledger
- Manage research and support for corporate income tax audits and notices
- Review information for income tax amendments
- Prepare quarterly and annual federal and state tax forecasts and income tax accruals
- Identify legal tax savings opportunities and develop corporate tax strategies
- Stay updated on and analyze the impact of new tax laws
- Conduct general tax research and reconciliation for US and foreign taxes
Requirements
- Eight or more years of experience with corporate income tax preparation and analysis required.
- Strong analytical skills and be comfortable with creating report queries to extract data to Excel for manipulation and reporting.
- Ability to perform mathematical computations accurately, as well as the ability to identify and correct errors.
- Must possess sufficient interpersonal skills to effectively interact with persons inside and outside the company.
- Strong supervisory and decision making skills.
- Work under stress, meet deadlines, and handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to research, analyze, and retrieve data necessary to complete duties.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs and sit for long periods of time if necessary.
