Job Description
The Senior Project Engineer at Zeeco is responsible for managing equipment design, coordinating technical and commercial communications, overseeing project schedules and budgets, and ensuring all drawings and specifications meet customer requirements in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review Shop Order files to confirm scope of supply based on customer specifications and sales quotations
- Select equipment and perform design calculations and sketches to establish equipment design
- Coordinate drafting and ensure completion of all required drawings
- Review customer mark-up prints and instruct drafting on disposition
- Establish and track project cost budgets in collaboration with sales and cost specialists
- Maintain and coordinate delivery schedules based on customer requirements and company workloads
- Pre-order materials necessary to meet delivery deadlines
- Inform Quality Control of customer job specifications
- Manage technical and commercial correspondence with customers, end users, sales reps, and outside consultants
- Instruct drafting and support staff on drawings to be sent to involved parties
- Notify sales and estimating departments of scope or design changes affecting price
- Coordinate price revisions and written advice with customers
- Notify Order Entry of revisions to Shop Orders and ensure proper documentation updates
Requirements
- B.S. degree in Engineering Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field and/or 6-10 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have personal computer skills.
