Job Description
The Project Manager Engineer oversees the planning, execution, and monitoring of engineering projects, ensuring scope, budget, and schedules are maintained while coordinating technical, commercial, and quality aspects from design to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, define, and manage project scope, schedules, and budgets
- Monitor and report project progress, risks, and issues
- Coordinate technical design, equipment selection, and drafting activities
- Ensure completion of all required drawings and documentation
- Maintain delivery schedules and coordinate procurement, manufacturing, and quality control
- Manage customer and internal communications, including change management and price revisions
- Track and control project costs and prepare invoices
- Support engineering design, including creating drawings and diagrams
- Ensure scope of supply is fully met without exceeding limits
Requirements
- A relevant Engineering degree.
- A minimum of 4 years of project engineering experience including plant selection, budget developments and control through the project lifecycle, quality control, change management, and internal and external customer communications from conceptual design through to delivery and installation.
- Experience in verifying equipment selection and design, performing coordinate calculations and sketches, and drafting for job completion.
- Ability to review customer mark-up prints and aid drafting for final approvals and shop release.
- Experience in establishing and tracking the cost budget for jobs by working with the Sales Department and cost specialists.
- Ability to maintain delivery schedules based on customer requirements and company workloads, including coordination of drafting, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality control.
- Experience in coordinating pre-ordered materials to meet delivery schedules.
- Involvement with Quality Control Department regarding customer job specifications, ITP requirements, and exceptional customer or QC details.
- Experience in coordinating technical and commercial correspondence with customers, end users, sales reps, and outside consultants.
- Experience in maintaining change management processes, notifying sales and estimating departments of scope or design changes affecting price, and coordinating price revisions with customers.
- Ability to coordinate and update project documentation.
- Proficiency in creating project invoices via Excel for finance purposes.
- Experience in designing and producing engineering drawings such as valve assemblies, electrical connection diagrams, P&IDs, and detailing equipment for manufacture, working from sketches, models, and verbal information.
- Ability to select required information from precedents and guides to complete assignments.
- Proficiency in utilizing computer-assisted drafting (CAD) systems to complete engineering assignments.
- Ensuring the scope of supply is fully met without exceeding it.
