Job Description
The Project Engineer at Zeeco is responsible for managing order execution, coordinating resources, and ensuring timely delivery of complex OEM equipment packages while maintaining quality and customer satisfaction through effective communication and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage order execution to ensure timely delivery of quality products within scope and budget.
- Assist with equipment selection, system design, and sourcing fabrication with external vendors.
- Coordinate internal resources and external vendors to meet project milestones and schedule.
- Interface with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams to communicate project status and requirements.
- Oversee procurement activities, including RFQ processes, negotiations, and purchase of materials and instruments.
- Track project progress, manage scope, schedule, and change orders to meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate delivery, commissioning, and support with field service and aftermarket teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Preferred Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, MET, Construction Management, or equivalent background as justified) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be proficient in standard personal computer skills and professional correspondence.
- Experience related to manufacturing environment, project management, manufacturing, continuous improvement, OEM sales, fabrication, or universal project management (preferred but can be excluded if equivalent experience is provided).
- Ability to confirm equipment selection and design as quoted and sold to the customer.
- Ability to coordinate with internal resources such as drafting, supply chain, and purchasing to release necessary tasks for project deliverables including drawings, data packages, bill of materials, and sourcing fabrication with external fabricators.
- Experience in completing RFQ request for quote process, negotiating pricing scope, and determining the best choice to release equipment and control systems.
- Ability to interact with supply chain to select and organize free-issue materials to be provided to vendors to complete build.
- Ability to coordinate with purchasing to select, source, and buy necessary items, materials, and instruments to be supplied to vendors or directly to customers.
- Experience in managing all functions above and tracking progress against project schedule to monitor impact on customer delivery milestones.
- Ability to coordinate all internal and external commercial correspondence related to project execution, including communication with customers, end users, outside consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to interface with administrative groups to release and transmit information both internally and to customers.
- Ability to maintain constant communication with applications engineering group to stay current on commodity pricing, fabrication shop labor, scheduling, and customer requirements.
- Ability to coordinate with accounting regarding invoicing milestones and assist accounts receivable with payment receipt in a timely manner.
- Strong communication skills to share project status updates, schedule assessments, and impacts with internal stakeholders and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
