Job Description
The Global Retrofit and Aftermarket Manager at Zeeco oversees proposal management, technical development, and customer relationships related to thermal oxidizers and other products, leading a team of application engineers to ensure complete and competitive offerings while supporting sales and technical activities worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of application engineers dedicated to Aftermarket.
- Analyze and interpret customer inquiries to design and specify appropriate equipment.
- Assist with technical development and risk assessment of customer inquiries.
- Travel to customer facilities for site support and technical review.
- Review cost estimates and set product pricing according to guidelines.
- Support the creation of drawings needed for quotations.
- Follow up with customers during the quotation process and negotiate proposals.
- Develop and maintain long-term profitable customer relationships.
- Provide status reports on proposal activities to management.
- Create and modify sales presentation materials using various software tools.
Requirements
- Knowledge of all Zeeco products, with a focus on Thermal Oxidizers products and technical requirements.
- Manage a team of application engineers dedicated to Aftermarket.
- Analyze and interpret customer inquiries, including specifications, to design and specify appropriate equipment for the application.
- Assist with technical development and risk assessment of customer inquiries.
- Assign opportunities to Application Engineers (AEs).
- Travel to customer facilities for site support and details needed for technical review and proposal generation, with availability to travel abroad 35-40%.
- Review cost estimates according to established guidelines.
- Set product pricing using mark-up and commission schedules established by management.
- Support the AE to determine drawings needed for quotation.
- Follow-up on any written or verbal correspondence with customers during the quotation phase.
- Visit with customers post-proposal issuance to discuss and negotiate proposals.
- Select and develop contacts with customers in the given territory to promote Zeeco products.
- Build and maintain a long-term profitable relationship with customers.
- Provide status reports to management on overall proposal status and activities.
- Assist with the creation and modification of sales presentation documents using Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Adobe, and all web-based systems.
- Work with management to determine updated skills and tools needed to improve team performance and knowledge.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned that are appropriate based on skills and experience.
- Possess good technical ability.
- Hold a B.S. degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering.
- Have commercial and technical abilities to close deals.
- Demonstrate organizational skills to deal efficiently with multiple customer priorities.
- Demonstrate autonomy and experience within the technical marketplace.
- Motivation to build relationships with a wide range of contacts.
