Job Description
The Field Service Technician is responsible for providing onsite and remote maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and commissioning support for Zeeco combustion systems, ensuring safety and operational efficiency in the Baaken Shale region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite and remote preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for combustion equipment.
- Support commissioning and operational support for vapor recovery, combustion, and product loading systems.
- Complete documentation of services and provide recommendations to improve equipment operation.
- Represent Zeeco at customer sites during service and commissioning projects.
- Maintain and operate tools, vehicles, safety equipment, and PPE required for fieldwork.
- Adhere to safety regulations and complete safety training prior to working independently.
- Respond to on-call service requests within the region.
- Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and support hardware automation systems.
Requirements
- High school education with a 2-year instrumentation engineering trade school certificate, Journeyman electrical skills, or at least three years on-the-job service experience.
- Electrical skills equal to a journeyman level or a 2-year certificate for instrumentation engineering technology.
- Ability to interpret specialized documents and initiate effective communication, including writing or modifying documents used in this position.
- Capable of working in both indoor and outdoor climates, including extreme cold and warm environments, while equipped with company-provided PPE.
- Capable of heavy lifting up to 50 lbs., working in constricted or awkward positions for periods of time, climbing ladders and stairs, pulling, bending, stooping, and standing.
- Completion of all basic industry safety requirements and all Zeeco-related safety programs prior to working alone in the field service group.
- Ownership of a valid state-issued driver license with an acceptable driving history and no major offenses on record.
- Capable of dealing with issues and problems that require thoughtful reasoning, often under pressure of deadlines and high expectations, including handling unpleasant situations while maintaining awareness and understanding of others' feelings.
- Capable of completing all required documentation related to this position in a timely manner per provided guidelines.
- Basic computer skills including the ability to use word processing, spreadsheet functions, and email applications.
- General understanding of computer networking applications and basic knowledge of PLC programming and hardware troubleshooting.
