Job Description

A Field Service Commissioning Engineer Technician responsible for on-site commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and supervision of combustion and fired equipment in the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries across the Netherlands, ensuring customer support and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation supervision of legacy and retrofit equipment.
  • Prepare Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), site visit reports, and maintain timesheets for clients.
  • Start up and maintain combustion systems including flare systems, flare gas recovery, burners, oxidizers, and pollution control equipment.
  • Identify opportunities for additional aftermarket spares and site service support.
  • Supervise on-site turnaround outages and deliver training to end-user personnel.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies to promote a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in conducting on-site commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, fault analysis, and installation supervision on legacy and retrofit combustion equipment.
  • Ability to prepare Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), site visit reports, and maintain timesheets for submission to clients.
  • Experience in starting up and maintaining Zeeco's combustion products and systems, including flare systems, flare gas recovery, boiler burners, process burners, thermal oxidizers, vapour recovery systems, and associated pollution and optical control equipment.
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and PLC control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with good computer skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, potentially over 200 days per year, for periods of 1-2 weeks at a time.
  • Preparedness to work in challenging environments such as heights, confined spaces, and offshore environments, with a commitment to safety standards.
  • Native Dutch language ability and fluency in English are essential.
  • Previous experience in combustion within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industries is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and task completion.
  • Ability to work in accordance with the Company and customer Health and Safety Policies, promoting a safe working environment at all times.
