The Mechanical Drafter Designer at Zeeco is responsible for creating and revising 2D and 3D CAD drawings for burner projects, supporting engineering with equipment design, and ensuring project specifications are met through detailed drafting and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Design equipment based on project mechanical specifications using CAD in 2D and 3D.
Assist engineering team with equipment selection and design confirmation.
Create and revise technical drawings and ensure they meet project requirements.
Review customer mark-up prints and address comments.
Visit shops and travel to support design modifications and guide production.
Requirements
Associate s Degree in Drafting or equivalent combination of experience and certification
5 years drafting design experience
AutoCAD experience required
Proficiency using Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Adobe, and all Web based systems for design completion
Analyzes project mechanical specifications requirements to design appropriate equipment for the application
Assists engineering team with confirmation of equipment selection and design
Utilizes Computer Assisted Drafting CAD system or equivalent to complete assignments in both 2D and 3D
Makes arithmetic computations using standard formulas
Follows methods, procedures, sources of information, precedents, and detailed verbal instructions from project engineer or supervisor
Completes simple revisions to existing drawings with a verbal explanation of desired results
Ensures all required drawings are completed and meet project requirements in collaboration with the project engineer
Reviews customer mark-up prints and dispositions of comments
Participates in shop visits and travel to assist with design changes as required per the project
Assists shop personnel with guidelines for production of equipment
