Job Description
The Crater Material Handler fabricates wooden crates, supports shipping operations by moving and loading equipment, primarily using forklifts, and ensures organized shipping processes in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate wooden crates and boxes using woodworking tools
- Support shipping operations by loading, unloading, and staging equipment
- Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks to move equipment and materials
- Read blueprints and shipping notices to determine crate specifications
- Inspect products to select appropriate containers and supports
Requirements
- Ability to safely operate a forklift to load and unload trucks, move equipment in and out of shipping bays, and maintain an organized shipping area.
- Experience in fabricating wooden crates or boxes using woodworking hand tools and powered tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, shipping notices, and other specifications to determine size and shape of containers, materials to be used, and types of supports and braces.
- Experience in loading and unloading trucks using overhead crane, forklift, and pallet jack.
