Job Description
An apprenticeship position in welding fabrication where you'll gain hands-on experience and industry-recognized qualifications by working in a workshop and attending college, focusing on welding, fabrication, and safety standards to develop a career in engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn to fabricate and weld to industry standards through hands-on training and college coursework
- Prepare and plan fabrication activities using detailed engineering drawings
- Operate and maintain fabrication and welding equipment safely and reliably
- Interpret technical drawings, patterns, and templates to produce complex fabricated components
- Operate cutting, drilling, shaping equipment, and perform TIG and MIG welding processes
- Follow health, safety, environmental, and ISO requirements at all times
- Restore work areas to a safe condition and complete necessary documentation
Requirements
- You need to be 18 or over by September insurance requirement.
- GCSE qualified with at least four passes including Maths, English and Science, plus a relevant post GCSE college course.
- Genuinely hands on experience, such as enjoying fixing things, understanding how machines work, or participating in practical projects at school, home, or in clubs.
- Full of initiative, adaptable, eager to learn, and driven to succeed.
- Living within 45 minutes of the Stamford site.
