Job Description
The Applications Engineer - Spare Parts Specialist is responsible for managing spare parts proposals, analyzing customer inquiries, developing cost estimates, creating quotations, and ensuring the most complete offering to secure contracts, all while leveraging knowledge of Zeeco products and industry experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Review spare parts requests and create quotations based on project documentation.
- Collaborate with Project Engineers to ensure all viable spare parts are quoted.
- Analyze customer inquiries to specify appropriate equipment or spare parts.
- Develop cost estimates and set product pricing using market intelligence and management guidelines.
- Locate and utilize drawings and project information for accurate quotations.
- Create, edit, and issue formal quotations to customers.
- Follow up on open quotes and customer correspondence to advance sales opportunities.
- Provide updates on the status of proposals and action items to secure orders.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of industry experience, including sales experience, industry experience, and/or Zeeco experience.
- Knowledge of all Zeeco products and required spare parts.
- Ability to review PE Product Group requests for spare parts lists, including project documentation, and create spare parts quotations.
- Experience working with Project Engineers to ensure all viable spare parts are quoted.
- Ability to analyze and interpret customer inquiries, including specifications, to specify appropriate equipment and/or spare parts for the application.
- Capability to develop cost estimates according to established guidelines.
- Skill to set product pricing using market intelligence plus mark-up and commission schedules established by management.
- Proficiency in locating and using drawings and other project information needed for quotation.
- Experience creating, editing, and issuing formal quotations to customers.
- Ability to follow-up on open quotes and handle written or verbal correspondence from customers.
- Skill to provide updates regarding the status of open proposals and action items needed to win the order.
- Ability to work with management to determine updated skills and tools needed to continue improving performance and knowledge.
