Job Description
A Senior Data Engineer responsible for building and managing scalable data products, ingesting and enriching raw data, designing reliable workflows, and developing data access tools in a cloud environment to support a digital media company's analytics and decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build highly consumable and cost-efficient data products that synthesize data from various source systems
- Stage raw data and enrich it with business value for downstream workflows
- Ingest raw data using Fivetran and Python and surface it in BigQuery
- Design workflows to ensure reliable and consistent data creation, repairing and enhancing them as needed
- Develop Looker Views and Models to democratize access to data products
Requirements
- Proven experience building and managing data products in modern cloud environments, with a preference for GCP.
- Expertise in SQL, with the ability to design and develop data products and manage data workflows.
- Strong proficiency in Python for data ingestion and workflows.
- Experience ingesting raw data with Fivetran and Python, and surfacing it in BigQuery for company use.
- Ability to design workflows that ensure reliable and consistent data creation, and to repair and enhance them as needed in response to changing data or excessive costs.
- Experience developing Looker Views and Models to democratize access to data products.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in a quantitative field such as computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, data science, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in building and managing data products in cloud environments, demonstrating the ability to make decisions and be proactive.
- Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams.
