Job Description
The Water Wastewater Operator or Operator Trainee is responsible for participating in the daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities and systems, ensuring compliance and efficient plant performance, often involving shift work and on-call duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants and collection/distribution systems.
- Operate treatment plant equipment and systems to ensure compliance with operational standards.
- Respond to alarm call outs and participate in shift coverage as needed.
- Assist in maintaining treatment plant and system performance and efficiency.
- Support certification and training efforts to maintain industry certifications.
Requirements
- Participate in the daily operations and maintenance of Maple Shade, NJ's Water and/or Wastewater Utility, including Treatment Plants and Collection and Distribution Systems, as directed by Woodard Curran's management.
- Work a scheduled day shift and participate in an on-call rotation on weekends, holidays, and outside normal shift hours for alarm call outs and possible shift coverage.
- Pay union dues whether or not the employee joins the union, as this is a union position.
- Possess the ability to perform operational tasks related to water and wastewater treatment and distribution systems.
- Have the ability to work outside normal hours and respond to alarm call outs during on-call shifts.
