The Water Wastewater Operator Trainee will assist in operating and maintaining water and wastewater treatment facilities, shadowing certified operators, learning treatment processes, and supporting plant operations to ensure compliance and efficient system performance.
Key Responsibilities
Shadow certified operators to learn treatment processes for drinking and wastewater.
Assist with maintaining plant operations to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Manage work orders and computerized maintenance management system.
Order and manage plant supplies.
Work indoors and outdoors to protect water resources.
Requirements
Must be willing to work towards obtaining and maintaining water and wastewater operator licenses and certifications within the industry.
Strong computer skills, including managing work orders and computerized maintenance management systems.
Reliable and dependable attendance is an essential function of the position.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, protecting water resources.
Flexibility to work different shifts, including schedule hours of 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday, based on operational needs.
Ability to work in a team environment by shadowing certified operators at the treatment facility and in the field to learn treatment processes and procedures.
Willingness to assist with additional responsibilities such as managing work orders, ordering plant supplies, and supporting plant operations as needed.
Must be able to work in compliance with operational procedures to keep treatment plants running efficiently and in full compliance.
Ability to perform physical demands associated with working outdoors and indoors in a treatment plant environment, including working in various weather conditions.
Must demonstrate a commitment to safety and operational compliance in water and wastewater treatment processes.
