Job Description

A full-time Water Treatment and Distribution Operator responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, and monitoring of drinking water treatment and distribution systems, ensuring compliance and efficient plant performance in Adelanto, CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain drinking water treatment and distribution systems.
  • Monitor daily process parameters to ensure compliance and system efficiency.
  • Perform routine maintenance on wells, pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
  • Respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for system coverage outside normal hours.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid and current water treatment and distribution operator certification as required by the state of California or equivalent industry certification.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for system coverage outside normal work hours, including weekends, and respond to emergency situations as needed.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
  • Participate in daily process monitoring and comprehensive maintenance activities to maintain 100% compliance with water quality standards.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including inclement weather, and respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
  • Work a standard schedule of 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, with rotating 7-day on-call coverage, and receive a $200 per week on-call stipend.
  • Have the physical ability to perform tasks related to the operation and maintenance of water treatment and distribution systems, including working with equipment and in field conditions.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team of at least 5 operators and coordinate with the Project Manager and other staff.
  • Have knowledge of and ability to follow safety, operating, and emergency response procedures relevant to water treatment and distribution operations.
