Job Description
A full-time Water Treatment and Distribution Operator responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, and monitoring of drinking water treatment and distribution systems, ensuring compliance and efficient plant performance in Adelanto, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in daily operations and maintenance of drinking water treatment and distribution systems
- Monitor and ensure compliance through daily process monitoring
- Respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed
- Operate and maintain groundwater wells, pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, and treatment plant equipment
- Follow safety, operating, and emergency response procedures
- Participate in on-call rotation for system coverage outside normal hours
Requirements
- Possession of a valid water treatment and distribution operator certification as required by state or local regulations.
- Participation in an on call rotation for system coverage outside normal workday hours, including shifts that may include weekends.
- Ability and willingness to respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed.
- Work performed in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
- Standard schedule of 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, with a 7 day on call coverage schedule and a $200 per week on call stipend.
- Participation in daily process monitoring and a comprehensive maintenance system to maintain 100% compliance.
- Experience working in outdoor environments and protecting water resources.
- Ability to work as part of a team of at least 5 members in the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities of drinking water treatment and distribution systems.
- Physical ability to perform duties related to operating and maintaining water treatment and distribution infrastructure, including wells, pipelines, reservoirs, pump stations, and treatment plants.
- Knowledge of and compliance with safety, operating, and emergency response procedures relevant to water treatment and distribution operations.
