Job Description
The Water Distribution and Treatment Operator is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of water treatment and distribution facilities, ensuring compliance and protecting water resources, while working outdoors and supporting community health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in daily operations and maintenance of water treatment and distribution facilities as directed by the Plant Manager
- Monitor daily process parameters to ensure compliance and optimal plant performance
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to support water treatment and distribution systems
- Maintain 100% compliance through process monitoring and system upkeep
- Assist in troubleshooting operational issues and implementing solutions
Requirements
- Possession of relevant certifications for Water Distribution and/or Treatment Operators as required by industry standards and the state of Connecticut.
- Participation in the daily operations and maintenance of the Water Treatment and Distribution facility as directed by the Plant Manager.
- Ability to work M-F between the hours of 0700-1600.
- Willingness to rotate a 7-day on call coverage schedule, with a $200 per week on call stipend provided.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining 100% compliance through daily process monitoring and comprehensive maintenance system.
- Ability to work outdoors and protect natural water resources.
- Experience or knowledge in water treatment and distribution operations, including process monitoring and maintenance activities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a supportive and empowering work environment.
- Ability to adapt to different challenges and learning opportunities presented daily in water treatment and distribution operations.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 0700-1600 hours
7-day on-call rotation with a $200 weekly stipend
