Job Description
The Wastewater Operator is responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and monitoring of a wastewater treatment facility, ensuring compliance with regulations, performing laboratory analyses, and responding to emergencies while working outdoors and participating in an on-call rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the wastewater treatment facility and collection system daily
- Perform process monitoring and laboratory analysis to ensure compliance
- Conduct daily rounds and record keeping of operational data
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment at the treatment facility
- Perform general facility and grounds maintenance
- Respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed
- Participate in on-call rotation for plant coverage outside normal hours
Requirements
- Experience operating a wastewater treatment facility, specifically involving daily operations and general maintenance of equipment at a Sequential Batch Reactor Wastewater Treatment Facility.
- Ability to perform daily rounds, laboratory analysis, record keeping, process control, sludge thickening, maintenance projects, and general facility and grounds maintenance.
- Work in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
- Participation in an on call rotation for plant coverage outside normal workday hours.
- Availability to work shifts that may include weekends and respond to emergency situations as needed.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including inclement weather.
- Availability to work the daily schedule of Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
