Job Description

The Wastewater Collection Systems Operator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and repairing wastewater collection systems and pump stations, supporting treatment plant operations, and ensuring compliance with environmental standards through skilled, journeyman-level work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the operations and maintenance of wastewater collection systems and pumping stations, including CCTV work, line repair, and water disconnects.
  • Operate water and wastewater treatment plant equipment in a support role.
  • Monitor, repair, and control the functioning of pump station and plant equipment and processes.
  • Perform skilled, journeyman-level work under supervision to ensure system and equipment functionality.

Requirements

  • Perform skilled, journeyman-level work in monitoring, repairing, and controlling the functioning of pump station and plant equipment and processes in wastewater collection systems and wastewater pumping stations.
  • Participate in the operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Collection System and Wastewater Pumping Stations, including tasks such as CCTV work, line repair and replacement, road flagging, and water disconnects.
  • Operate water and/or wastewater treatment plant equipment in a support role as needed.
  • Work under the direct or general supervision of the Lead Operator and Project Manager.
  • Work a schedule of five 8-hour shifts from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday, after onboarding and training.
  • May need to work rotating standby on call, including weekends.
  • Receive a stipend of $200 for standby availability, with additional compensation for any hours worked while on standby.
