Job Description
The Operator Trainee is responsible for assisting in the daily operations and maintenance of an industrial wastewater treatment facility, including monitoring processes, performing water quality testing, and maintaining equipment, with opportunities for professional growth and certification support.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment manually and via SCADA automation, making adjustments as necessary.
- Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repairs on plant equipment, including preventive maintenance.
- Utilize software for maintenance work orders and maintain all necessary records.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency or unpredicted situations.
Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma or college degree, or be a recent high school or college graduate, or someone looking for a mid-career shift.
- Must be self-motivated, take pride in their work, and pursue a career in the wastewater treatment industry.
- Must be able to monitor wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, making adjustments as necessary to control their operation.
- Must be capable of performing water quality sampling, testing, and analysis in a laboratory environment to determine compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Must be able to operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repair of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties.
- Must utilize software programs for maintenance work orders and maintain all necessary records.
- Must be available to work a schedule from Tuesday to Tuesday, 7:00 pm to 5:00 am, working one week on and one week off.
- Must participate in an on-call rotation on weekends, holidays, and outside normal workday hours.
- Must be able to respond to emergency or unpredicted situations as required.

Work schedule: Tuesday to Tuesday, 7:00 pm to 5:00 am, with a week on and a week off
