Job Description
The Operations Maintenance Technician is responsible for water meter installation, repair, customer interactions regarding water and sewer issues, line locates, and general operations and maintenance tasks within a public water supply district.
Key Responsibilities
- Change out and repair water meters
- Meet with customers to address water and sewer issues
- Perform locates of water and sewer lines throughout the district
- Conduct operations maintenance and housekeeping in accordance with contract requirements
Requirements
- Ability to change out water meters and repair water meters in accordance with operational standards.
- Experience performing locates of water and sewer lines throughout the district.
- Responsibility for meeting with customers about issues on water and sewer services.
- Performing operations maintenance and housekeeping tasks in accordance with contract requirements.
- Ability to perform customer service-related job duties as assigned.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as changing and repairing water meters, performing line locates, and other field activities.
- Willingness to work in outdoor environments and in various weather conditions.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain compliance with industry standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be able to perform tasks that may require physical exertion, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Compliance with all safety and operational policies and procedures.
