Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for operating, monitoring, and performing mechanical and electrical repairs on equipment at a wastewater treatment plant, ensuring efficient plant operations and compliance with environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the wastewater treatment plant and associated facilities
- Monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure efficient treatment operations
- Perform mechanical repairs on pumps, compressors, valves, HVAC equipment, and electrical systems
- Perform electrical repairs on equipment including VFDs and power systems
- Respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed
- Participate in on-call rotation for plant coverage outside normal hours
Requirements
- Possess the ability to perform basic to advanced mechanical and electrical repairs on pumps, compressors, valves, HVAC equipment, and various types of electrical equipment including VFDs, power systems, and much more.
- Have experience in process monitoring and adjustments within a wastewater treatment plant environment.
- Be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant and the building and grounds at the Worthington, Minnesota facility.
- Work in outdoor conditions and respond to emergency situations as needed, including working in inclement weather.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for plant coverage outside normal workday hours, with shifts that may include weekends and holidays.
- Have a schedule typically Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and holiday coverage.
- Possess the physical ability to respond to emergency situations and work in various weather conditions as required.
