The Lead Operator is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of multiple water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring efficient plant performance and regulatory compliance, while supporting professional growth and working outdoors to protect water resources.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in the daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities
Operate treatment plant equipment to ensure efficient plant performance
Monitor and control treatment processes to maintain compliance with regulations
Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting of plant systems
Assist in maintaining safety and cleanliness of treatment facilities
Requirements
Participate in the daily operations and maintenance of five Water Treatment Facilities and two Wastewater Treatment Facilities as directed by the Project Manager and Chief Operator.
Possess the ability to work outdoors and protect water resources.
Hold valid licenses and certifications relevant to water and wastewater treatment operations, with reimbursement support from the employer for earning, upgrading, and maintaining these licenses and certifications.
Demonstrate experience in water and wastewater treatment plant operations, with a preference for prior experience in a lead operator role.
Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment plant operations or a related field.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or operational training related to water/wastewater treatment is preferred.
Be able to work flexible hours as required for plant operations and maintenance schedules.
Be physically capable of performing tasks associated with plant operation and maintenance, including lifting, standing, and outdoor work in various weather conditions.
Have knowledge of safety procedures and compliance standards related to water and wastewater treatment operations.
Be able to follow detailed operational procedures and safety protocols.
Possess strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.
Be committed to maintaining full compliance with all regulatory and safety standards applicable to water and wastewater treatment facilities.
