A Grade 2 Wastewater Treatment Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating wastewater treatment plant equipment, regulating flows, assisting with laboratory testing, and performing maintenance to ensure efficient and compliant wastewater processing at a community plant.
Key Responsibilities
Control the processing of wastewater and effluent
Regulate influent and effluent flows within the system
Monitor the operation of wastewater treatment plant equipment
Assist with basic laboratory testing and sample collection
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment
Requirements
Possess a minimum of a Grade 2 Wastewater Treatment Operator certification or equivalent industry certification.
Ability to learn and perform a variety of operational duties to control the processing of wastewater and effluent, including regulating influent and effluent flows within the system.
Monitor the operation of a variety of wastewater treatment plant equipment.
Assist with basic laboratory testing and sample collection related to wastewater treatment.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in support of the wastewater treatment plant.
Work under the direct or general supervision of the Lead Operator and Plant Manager.
Schedule: Work five 8-hour shifts from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday, after onboarding and training.
Be required to work rotating standby on call, including weekends, with a stipend of $200 for on-call time.
Possess the physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, protecting natural water resources.
Have the ability to work in a team environment and follow safety protocols and operational procedures.
Demonstrate a commitment to safety, compliance, and environmental regulations relevant to wastewater treatment operations.
