Job Description

A Wastewater Treatment Operator responsible for monitoring and controlling wastewater processing operations, performing laboratory testing, and maintaining equipment at a treatment facility, with opportunities for professional growth and certification advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control the processing of wastewater and effluent by regulating influent and effluent flows
  • Monitor the operation of wastewater treatment plant equipment
  • Assist with basic laboratory testing and sample collection
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment

Requirements

  • Possess a Grade 2 Wastewater Treatment License issued by the State of California.
  • Obtain a Grade 3 Wastewater Treatment License within 6-12 months of initial employment, as the facility requires a Grade 3 license to operate independently.
  • Work under the direct or general supervision of the Lead Operator and Plant Manager.
  • Learn and perform a variety of operational duties to control the processing of wastewater and effluent, including regulating influent and effluent flows within the system.
  • Monitor the operation of a variety of wastewater treatment plant equipment.
  • Assist with basic laboratory testing and sample collection.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in support of the wastewater treatment plant.
  • Work scheduled four 10-hour shifts from 6am to 4pm, Sunday through Wednesday, after onboarding and training.
  • Work rotating standby on call, including weekends, with a $200 stipend provided for on-call time.
  • Be eligible for a $2,500 sign-on bonus.
