Job Description
The Drinking Water Treatment Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining water treatment facilities, ensuring the delivery of safe, treated water to the environment, while performing technical and physical tasks such as testing, equipment servicing, and facility upkeep. The role offers training and growth opportunities in the water treatment field.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain water treatment process equipment
- Test and process samples in the laboratory
- Input data into plant databases
- Service and troubleshoot plant equipment
- Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of the facility
- Support the training and certification process for water treatment licensing
Requirements
- Must be willing to work full-time, year-round at the facility in Cohasset, Massachusetts.
- Must be responsible for the full-time operation and general maintenance of the facility's Water Treatment process equipment.
- Must be capable of performing testing and processing samples in the laboratory.
- Must be able to input data into plant databases accurately.
- Must be able to service the plant's equipment as required.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks such as snow removal, housekeeping, and grounds keeping.
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Must be willing to study for and pass the water treatment exam to obtain a water treatment license.
- Must be committed to working towards earning, upgrading, and maintaining water treatment certifications within the industry.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (implied, as industry certifications and licensing are required).
- Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment, including tasks such as servicing equipment and outdoor groundskeeping.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team to address operational issues and challenges.
- Must be able to comply with all safety and environmental regulations related to water treatment operations.
