The Assistant Plant Operations Manager oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and management of water and wastewater treatment facilities, leading a team of employees, ensuring system efficiency and compliance, and maintaining close communication with clients and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities
Manage and coordinate a staff of 19 employees, ensuring effective system operation and optimization
Maintain close communication with clients, contractors, engineering firms, and other stakeholders
Perform hands-on operational work and produce required reports
Coordinate the ongoing daily operation of the utility system
Requirements
Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to perform hands-on work related to water and wastewater treatment operations.
Experience overseeing the daily operations, maintenance, and management of water and wastewater treatment facilities, collections, and distribution systems.
Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with staff, client representatives, contractors, and engineering firms to ensure system operation and optimization.
Proven experience in producing required reports related to water and wastewater system operations.
Demonstrated ability to perform administrative duties associated with water and wastewater treatment plant management.
Experience supervising a team of employees, with specific mention of overseeing a staff of 19 employees in operations and maintenance roles.
Knowledge of and compliance with industry regulations and standards for water and wastewater treatment operations.
Ability to perform hands-on operational tasks as required in the management of water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Willingness to work in a physically demanding environment that may include outdoor work and operational tasks related to water treatment systems.
Possession of or ability to obtain relevant licenses and certifications within the industry, with reimbursement support for earning, upgrading, and maintaining such licenses and certifications.
Strong communication skills to maintain close client communication and coordinate with multiple parties involved in system operation.
Ability to manage administrative duties, including reporting and system coordination, related to water and wastewater treatment operations.
