Job Description

A Product Manager at Insider is responsible for guiding the development and vision of new products, using data, research, and strategy to create innovative solutions that impact millions of users worldwide. The role involves leadership, decision-making, collaboration, and driving product growth in a fast-paced, socially progressive environment.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

  • The candidate must have the ability to make decisions and set direction while motivating and inspiring people around them to follow that direction.
  • The candidate must serve as the diplomat of the team, capable of transmitting complex information to different audiences clearly and talent in reaching the information needed from the people they are talking to.
  • The candidate must be a natural-born problem solver, finding solutions to complex problems that motivate and excite them, and experience the sense of accomplishment when solving problems.
  • The candidate must be able to work easily with people around them, help them when needed, give or take constructive feedback despite any personal conflicts.

  • The candidate must have experience in guiding development and design teams using data, research, strategy, and empathy.
  • The candidate must have the ability to make tough decisions, release new features, and create innovative products that bring ease and joy to users.
  • The candidate must have the ability to work closely with experienced Product Managers, learn from mistakes without blame, and develop skills necessary to become a successful product manager.
  • The candidate must have at least 1 year of experience in product management or relevant roles (implied by the need to learn from experienced PMs and gain important responsibilities).
  • The candidate must have a strong sense of leadership, communication, problem-solving, teamwork, listening skills, and entrepreneurial spirit as essential personal qualities.
