Job Description
A Senior Robotics Engineer at Toyota Research Institute will develop and implement machine learning-based robotic systems focused on perception, prediction, and action to create robust, reactive, and coordinated robot behaviors for advanced mobility solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement machine learning models for perception, prediction, and action in robotics systems.
- Design and build robust, reactive, and coordinated robot behaviors leveraging simulation and real-world data.
- Evaluate system performance quantitatively to ensure high quality and reliability of robotic functionalities.
Requirements
- Experience in developing robotic systems with a focus on perception, prediction, and action, leveraging machine learning techniques to produce robust, reactive, and coordinated robot behaviors.
- Ability to bootstrap from simulation, leverage large amounts of data, and adapt in real-world scenarios.
- Proven experience in identifying key technologies, developing high-quality systems, and quantitatively evaluating performance of robotic or machine learning systems.
- Strong background in machine learning, cloud computing, software development, and hardware integration relevant to robotics.
- Educational background in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related disciplines (implied by the senior-level role).
- Demonstrated experience in leading or contributing significantly to robotics projects involving perception, prediction, and action modules.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that demands high-risk innovation and learning from failures.
- Experience with simulation tools and large-scale data utilization for training and testing robotic systems.
- Knowledge of and experience with developing systems that can be transitioned into products impacting millions of people.

Salary range between $164,000 and $264,000 per year
