Job Description
A summer internship position at Toyota Research Institute focused on developing software systems, tools, and APIs to enable real-world robotics applications, bridging research and practical deployment in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build systems, tools, and APIs to enable the deployment of advanced algorithms in robotics applications.
- Contribute to robotics platform software, computer vision training, and deployment pipelines.
- Develop application features to improve usability in manufacturing environments.
- Work on software needed for robotics research to succeed in real-world settings.
Requirements
- Strong software skills and a passion for making robotics work in the real world.
- Curious and motivated engineering interns.
- Ability to contribute to building systems, tools, and APIs that enable users to get value from advanced algorithms, including robotics platform software, computer vision training and deployment pipelines, or application features that improve usability in manufacturing environments.
- Interest in bridging research and practice, and in seeing ideas turn into working, scalable systems.
- Availability to participate in a paid 12-week summer internship in 2026.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid in-office role.
- Experience or knowledge in developing software for robotics research to succeed in the field (implied requirement based on role).
