Job Description
A research-focused postdoctoral position at Toyota Research Institute specializing in robotics, multi-modal learning, and spatio-temporal reasoning to develop advanced models for autonomous agents and real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop foundation models leveraging multi-modal data for world understanding and downstream tasks.
- Conduct research on 4D World Models, Physical and Embodied Intelligence, and Multi-Modal Learning.
- Collaborate on high-risk, high-reward projects to advance spatio-temporal reasoning and zero-shot generalization.
- Contribute to the development of methods and techniques to solve real-world problems related to autonomous agents.
- Work closely with team members and external partners to publish research and productize developed technologies.
Requirements
- A PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on robotics, machine learning, or computer vision.
- Experience in developing methods and techniques for spatio-temporal reasoning, zero-shot generalization, or related areas in autonomous systems or robotics research.
- Strong research experience in the development of foundation models capable of leveraging large-scale multi-modal data including RGB, depth, flow, semantics, bounding boxes, tactile, audio, etc.
- Proficiency in multi-modal learning, multi-view geometry, 4D reconstruction, or related fields relevant to embodied applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on high-risk, high-reward research projects within a team environment.
- Experience in developing methods that solve real-world problems related to autonomous agents, robotics, or mobility.
- A record of research publications in relevant scientific conferences or journals demonstrating expertise in the field.
- Ability to contribute to research and development threads in areas such as 4D World Models, Physical and Embodied Intelligence, and Multi-Modal Learning.
- Physical and mental capacity to engage in intensive research activities, including data analysis, algorithm development, and experimentation.
