Job Description
The Portfolio Engagement Director at Toyota Ventures supports early-stage startups across frontier and climate technologies by working closely with startup executives to foster their growth, address their needs, and deliver strategic value to Toyota, within a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support portfolio companies in areas such as customer discovery and business development
- Work closely with startup executives to understand and champion their needs
- Deliver strategic value to Toyota through engagement with portfolio companies
Requirements
- Support portfolio companies across both Frontier and Climate funds in areas such as AI, mobility, autonomy, robotics, space, materials, hydrogen, renewable energy, and carbon solutions.
- Work closely with startup executives to champion their needs and support their growth in areas like customer discovery and business development.
- Deliver strategic value to Toyota through engagement with portfolio companies.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience working with startups or in a venture capital environment.
- Demonstrate strong customer-focused professional skills and passion for helping startups.
- Be based in the San Francisco Bay Area or be able to work remotely within other U.S. cities.
- Have a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field (implied, as typical for director-level roles).
- Be able to support the role with a salary range of $140,000 to $190,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
- Be able to participate in a benefits package including 401(k), paid time off, and annual cash bonus (implied as mandatory for employment).
