Job Description
This internship involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop and test human-in-the-loop AI systems aimed at understanding and promoting carbon-neutral behaviors, with a focus on applying generative AI to accelerate behavior change technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and test human-in-the-loop systems for behavior change.
- Apply generative AI techniques to advance human behavior change research.
- Conduct research to understand, simulate, and shape carbon-neutral behaviors.
- Develop specific projects within the broader behavior change research program.
- Engage in strategy discussions to connect research outcomes to business impact at Toyota.
- Prepare research manuscripts for publication in competitive venues.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program and able to join as a research intern for the Summer 2026 12-week paid internship.
- Must be highly motivated and talented in research related to human behavior change and generative AI.
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including machine learning researchers and behavioral scientists.
- Ability to develop and test novel, human-in-the-loop systems for accelerating and scaling behavior change technologies.
- Ability to directly inform broader behavior change research programs through project work.
- Willingness to engage in strategy discussions about how research connects to business impact at Toyota.
- Ability to prepare a manuscript for publication at a competitive venue.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States (implied by the internship context and benefit details).
