Job Description
The position is a research internship focused on developing immersive scenarios using Generative AI technologies to support narrative-driven design, strategic scenario generation, and future product and social trend evaluation within Toyota's Human-Centered AI division.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop immersive scenarios using Generative AI for design, strategic planning, and social trend evaluation.
- Collaborate with mentors and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and stakeholder discussions.
- Support research on narrative-driven design and future scenario generation within the context of automotive innovation.
- Engage in strategy discussions to connect research outcomes to business impact at Toyota.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or have completed a PhD in a relevant field such as computer science, human-computer interaction, design, engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated interest and experience in multi-media and immersive technologies.
- Strong background in generative AI technologies and their applications.
- Experience developing immersive scenarios driven by Generative AI tools.
- Ability to support the development of scenarios for inventing and evaluating strategic scenarios, future product designs, and future social trends.
- Excellent communication skills to participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, division meetings, and stakeholder meetings.
- Ability to engage in strategy discussions about how research connects to business impact at Toyota.
- Availability to commit to a 13-week paid internship during Fall/Winter 2025.
- Willingness to participate in a hybrid in-office role as part of the internship.
- Experience with cognitive modeling, physiological sensing, or human-computer interaction is desirable but not explicitly mandatory.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team of ML researchers, behavior scientists, and human-computer interaction experts.
