Job Description
The Energy Materials Intern at Toyota Research Institute will develop methodologies for AI agents to interact with scientific workflows, aiming to improve collaboration and automation in scientific and engineering tasks related to energy materials research.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop methodologies for AI agents to interact with scientific workflows
- Improve agentic capacity to plan, design, and execute complex tasks in scientific and engineering domains
- Prove out practical applications of agentic AI systems
- Create adaptable frameworks for AI-driven scientific exploration and automation
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related engineering disciplines.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to develop methodologies for AI agents to interact with scientific workflows.
- Ability to study and improve agentic capacity to plan, design, and execute complex tasks within scientific and engineering domains.
- Proven ability to produce and develop adaptable frameworks for agentic AI systems.
- Strong understanding of artificial intelligence, automation, and scientific exploration concepts.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively demonstrate the practical application of AI systems.
- Ability to collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including researchers, engineers, and external partners.
- Availability to work in California-based roles with a pay range of $45 to $65 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Willingness to provide a full list of publications via Google Scholar when submitting CV for the position.
