Job Description
The position involves leading site design for industrial rail facilities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative infrastructure solutions, managing projects, mentoring junior staff, and supporting business development efforts within a hybrid work environment at a 100% employee-owned civil engineering firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site design for industrial facilities such as railyards, maintenance buildings, fueling stations, and administrative offices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative infrastructure solutions for railroads
- Manage project tasks, timelines, and client communications to ensure successful project delivery
- Mentor junior staff and support their professional development
- Contribute to business development by cultivating client relationships and supporting proposal development
Requirements
- Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering or be eligible to obtain one.
- Have experience in site design for industrial facilities such as railyards, maintenance and service buildings, locomotive fueling stations, and administrative offices.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead project design efforts for infrastructure projects related to railroads, including Class I, short line, and passenger railroads.
- Have the opportunity and willingness to grow project management skills and mentor junior staff.
- Be capable of contributing to business development efforts by cultivating client relationships and supporting proposal development.
- Complete a standard pre-employment background screening, including Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history.
