Job Description
The Construction Coordinator is responsible for monitoring airfield vehicular activity, providing vehicle escorts, coordinating construction and closure activities with air traffic control and contractors, and ensuring security and safety compliance during airport construction projects, primarily during the peak season from April to November.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor vehicular activity and provide vehicle escorts on the airfield during construction and maintenance.
- Coordinate movement and closure activities with air traffic control, contractors, and airport tenants.
- Monitor construction and airfield operations for security and safety compliance.
- Assist with inspections of runways, taxiways, lighting, perimeter security, and safety areas.
- Provide assistance during severe weather, airport emergencies, security threats, or hazardous spills.
Requirements
- Candidates must have the ability to monitor vehicular activity and provide vehicle escorts for those needing access to the airfield during construction operations, scheduled maintenance activities, and material deliveries.
- Candidates must be responsible for coordinating movement and closure activities with air traffic control, contractors, and airport tenants.
- Candidates must monitor construction and airfield operations for security purposes and ensure compliance with construction safety plans.
- Candidates must be able to assist with inspections of runways, taxiways, lighting, perimeter security, and safety areas on occasion.
- Candidates must be able to provide assistance to airport security and airport emergency services in the event of severe weather, airport emergencies, accidents, security threats, or hazardous spills.
- Candidates must have the flexibility to work both day and evening shifts, including occasional weekends and holidays during the peak construction season.
- Candidates must be able to work approximately 40-50 hours per week during the peak construction season from April through November.
- Candidates must complete and pass all background and security requests required by state and federal agencies responsible for aviation operations as an ongoing condition of employment, including Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history.
- Candidates must be willing to complete safety training and pre-construction planning and reviews during the off-peak season on an intermittent as-needed basis.
