Job Description
A Senior Backend Engineer on the AI Team at Sword Health is responsible for building, scaling, and optimizing the infrastructure that supports machine learning-powered clinical features, decision support systems, and innovations in Generative AI, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure products that enable personalized, data-driven healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, scale, and optimize infrastructure supporting ML-powered clinical features and decision support systems
- Develop and maintain backend systems to ensure robustness, scalability, and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless, data-driven, personalized care solutions
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in backend engineering, with a focus on building, scaling, and optimizing infrastructure supporting machine learning-powered clinical features, decision support systems, and innovations in Generative AI.
- Proficiency in working directly with cross-functional teams to ensure products are robust, scalable, and secure, providing seamless access to personalized, data-driven care for both internal and external users.
- Strong knowledge of AI and machine learning technologies, with a particular interest or experience in AI infrastructure and backend support for ML features.
- Experience in developing and maintaining secure backend systems that support clinical and healthcare-related applications.
- Ability to work in a remote, hybrid environment based in Portugal, with a valid EU visa, as relocation assistance is not provided.
- Legal eligibility to work in Portugal, including possession of a valid EU visa.
