Job Description
A Senior Backend Engineer on the AI Team at Sword Health is responsible for building, scaling, and optimizing infrastructure that supports machine learning-powered clinical features, decision support systems, and innovations in Generative AI, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure healthcare solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, scale, and optimize infrastructure supporting ML-powered clinical features and decision support systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products are robust, scalable, and secure
- Develop and maintain backend systems that enable seamless access to personalized, data-driven care
- Contribute to innovations in Generative AI within the healthcare platform
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in backend engineering, with a focus on building, scaling, and optimizing infrastructure supporting ML-powered clinical features, decision support systems, and innovations in Generative AI.
- Proficiency in working directly with cross-functional teams to ensure products are robust, scalable, and secure, providing seamless access to personalized, data-driven care for internal and external users.
- Strong knowledge of AI, machine learning, and backend development technologies relevant to healthcare applications.
- Experience in developing and maintaining scalable backend systems that support AI and ML functionalities.
- Ability to work in Portugal and possess a valid EU visa, as the position does not offer relocation assistance.
- Candidates must be based in Portugal to be eligible for this role.
