Job Description
A Backend Engineer at Sword Health will develop, scale, and optimize infrastructure supporting AI-powered clinical features and decision support systems, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust, secure, and scalable healthcare solutions that leverage machine learning and generative AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, scale, and optimize infrastructure supporting ML-powered clinical features and decision support systems
- Develop and maintain backend systems ensuring robustness, scalability, and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless, data-driven, personalized care solutions
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in backend engineering, software development, or a related field.
- Have experience building, scaling, and optimizing infrastructure that supports machine learning-powered clinical features, decision support systems, or similar AI-driven applications.
- Proficiency in designing and developing robust, scalable, and secure backend systems.
- Experience working directly with cross-functional teams, including AI/ML, product, and clinical teams, to ensure product robustness and security.
- Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies, with a particular interest or experience in Generative AI is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote hybrid environment, with the legal right to work in Portugal, including possessing a valid EU visa.
- Candidates must be based in Portugal and available to work without relocation assistance.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
