Job Description

The Head of Mechanical Engineering at SunDrive will lead the development and optimization of solar cell manufacturing processes, driving innovation to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and support the company's mission to advance sustainable solar technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical engineering team to develop and optimize solar cell manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Design, analyze, and improve mechanical systems related to solar cell production and testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure mechanical aspects align with product development goals and manufacturing efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing mechanical engineering teams or projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; advanced degrees (e.g., Master's or PhD) are preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems in a manufacturing or technology environment.
  • Strong understanding of solar technology manufacturing processes and mechanical system integration within solar cell production is required.
  • Experience managing cross-disciplinary teams and collaborating with R&D, production, and quality assurance departments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative mechanical solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Ability to oversee and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards relevant to mechanical engineering and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) for mechanical design and documentation.
  • Experience in project management, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for engineering projects.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present technical information to stakeholders and team members.
  • Physical ability to perform site inspections, oversee manufacturing processes, and engage in hands-on problem-solving as required.
