Job Description
A research and development internship focused on materials characterization and lab-scale cell building for next-generation solid-state batteries, involving hands-on laboratory work and data documentation in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist R&D personnel with materials characterization and lab scale cell builds
- Perform materials characterization techniques such as XRD, TGA, DSC, FTIR, PSA
- Operate lab equipment including furnaces, glove boxes, and battery testers safely
- Maintain accurate records of experiments conducted
- Clean and organize lab equipment and work areas
- Follow standard operating procedures
Requirements
- Working towards a bachelor's degree in chemistry, material science, chemical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Ability to work in dry room environment, gloveboxes, and chemistry lab.
- The candidate must be able to commit to 10-15 hours per week during the Spring semester and ideally 15 hours per week during the Summer.
- Perform materials characterization including XRD, TGA DSC, FTIR, PSA, and others.
- Safe operation of various lab equipment including furnaces, glove boxes, and battery testers.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of all conducted experimentation.
- Document and follow standard operating procedures.

- This position requires access to technology, software, and other information that is subject to governmental access control restrictions, and employment is conditioned on the continued availability of government authorization to access such items.
