Job Description

A Mechanical Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing specialized equipment in a battery manufacturing environment to ensure optimal operational efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on specialized manufacturing equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment malfunctions using schematics, manuals, and technical knowledge.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to optimize equipment uptime and performance.
Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team to improve equipment reliability.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong mechanical aptitude.
Experience working with pumps, motors, agitators, mechanical seals, tanks, valves, pipes, hydraulics, condensers, temperature control units, oil heating units, furnaces, and pneumatic transport systems, including a deep understanding of their operation and maintenance.
Ability to work and complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight.
Clear understanding of how PLCs operate in a manufacturing environment.
Good understanding of construction drawings, P&IDs, system schematics, and system technical information.
Ability and experience in the rigging, moving, and setting of very heavy systems and components safely.
Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment and tools up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
Ability to withstand exposure to noise, vibration, and extreme temperatures.
Ability to work safely in a potentially hazardous environment, including wearing PPE such as eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR as necessary.
