Job Description
A Mechanical Maintenance Technician responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing specialized equipment in a battery manufacturing environment to ensure optimal operational performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on specialized manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment malfunctions using schematics and technical manuals.
- Develop and refine preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team to improve operational performance.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience working with pumps, motors, agitators, mechanical seals, tanks, valves, pipes, hydraulics, condensers, temperature control units, oil heating units, furnaces, and pneumatic transport systems, including a deep understanding of their operation and maintenance.
- Ability to work and complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight.
- Clear understanding of how PLCs operate in a manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of construction drawings, P&IDs, system schematics, and system technical information.
- Ability and experience in the rigging, moving, and setting of very heavy systems and components safely.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment and tools up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
- Ability to withstand exposure to noise, vibration, and extreme temperatures.
- Ability to work safely in a potentially hazardous environment and perform tasks in compliance with safety standards and PPE requirements.
