Job Description
A senior leadership role responsible for developing, deploying, and scaling battery energy storage systems, managing cross-functional teams, and driving business growth in the distributed front-of-meter storage market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and scale the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) business focused on distributed, front-of-meter storage deployments.
- Manage projects from concept through permitting, contracting, and achieving construction readiness.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across Development, Engineering, Interconnection, Finance, Procurement, Construction, and Policy.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for executive leadership on storage-related matters.
- Identify and advance market opportunities for battery storage deployment.
- Establish technical and commercial guardrails for storage projects.
- Drive execution of storage projects to ensure pipeline projects reach construction readiness.
Requirements
- A leader with hands-on Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) expertise who has led battery storage projects from concept through permitting, contracting, and construction readiness.
- Experience effectively coordinating cross-functional teams across Development, Engineering, Interconnection, Finance, Procurement, Construction, and Policy teams.
- Proven ability to advance identified storage opportunities through deployment and establish capabilities to scale the BESS business.
- Experience in building and scaling BESS projects focused on distributed, front-of-meter (FTM) storage deployments.
- Ability to serve as the primary point of contact for executive leadership on all storage-related matters.
- Experience leading projects with the first pipeline of projects expected to reach construction readiness within one year.
- Demonstrated leadership in setting technical and commercial guardrails for battery energy storage projects.
- Experience in driving cross-functional execution across multiple teams involved in BESS projects.
- Based in the NY NJ metro area or willing to relocate, with the ability to be in-office 3 to 4 days per week.
