Job Description
A Senior Project Engineer responsible for providing engineering support for distributed energy and microgrid projects, including managing assets like solar, energy storage, and controls, to ensure reliable and efficient microgrid system implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for distributed energy and microgrid projects.
- Manage microgrid assets such as solar, energy storage, controls, and reciprocating engines.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure project design, engineering, and execution meet specifications.
- Support project planning, coordination, and technical troubleshooting throughout project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Provide comprehensive applications project engineering support for distributed energy and microgrid projects, including managing a variety of DER and microgrid assets such as solar, energy storage, controls, and reciprocating engines.
- Report to the VP of Project Engineering and Preconstruction.
- Work a hybrid schedule out of one of the specified offices in Ridgewood, NJ, NYC, Oakland, CA, or Santa Monica, CA.
- Possess the ability to have a long-term impact on a fast-paced, private equity-backed growth business.
- Demonstrate a commitment to core virtues including Do the Right Thing, Act Like an Owner, Hustle, Demand Results, Go Together, and Evolve or Disappear.
- Possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Have at least 3 years of experience in project engineering, systems engineering, or a related role within the energy, microgrid, or renewable energy sectors.
- Have experience managing or supporting projects involving distributed energy resources, microgrids, or similar energy systems.
- Possess strong technical skills related to microgrid systems, energy storage, solar power, controls, and reciprocating engines.
- Have the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
- Be able to work in a hybrid schedule, with flexibility to work from the office locations specified.
