Job Description
The role involves developing and maintaining embedded Linux software for safety and camera products, focusing on edge AI, multimedia, and infrastructure to support real-world applications in industries like transportation and manufacturing. It requires leading technical initiatives, collaborating across teams, and mentoring engineers to build scalable, high-quality solutions that impact physical operations globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop edge AI, multimedia, and camera infrastructure for Video-Safety products.
- Conceive, define, and drive architectural initiatives across complex embedded systems.
- Influence and guide a team of engineers on technical solutions, architectural tradeoffs, and quality improvements.
- Maintain and support production systems managed by the team.
- Participate in roadmap planning and collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical priorities.
- Ensure the accuracy and efficient operation of AI algorithms on edge devices.
- Partner with hardware teams to define and build next-generation devices supporting company objectives.
- Mentor engineers to improve technical standards and skills.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in embedded software development, preferably with a focus on embedded Linux systems.
- Strong experience in programming with Golang, C, C++, or similar programming languages.
- Proven experience defining and implementing scalable embedded software architecture.
- Proven experience planning, designing, scoping, and delivering complex, multi-team, or cross-system long-term projects involving external dependencies.
- A desire to mentor and grow engineers of all levels.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work with senior executives as well as junior engineers.
- Commitment to rigorous testing and validation practices.
- Experience working with teams across multiple disciplines, including Product Management, Cloud Software, Machine Learning, and Hardware.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with one or more of the following technologies: Edge Camera Systems, Video Capture, Video Encoding, Embedded AI.
- Familiarity with a diverse set of quality testing practices and continuous integration tooling.
