Job Description
The role involves leading a team of software and machine learning engineers to develop intelligent detection systems for telematics data, focusing on anomaly detection, real-time alerts, and incident workflows to improve fleet safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a team of software and ML engineers to develop anomaly detection systems for telematics data.
- Translate ambiguous product ideas into clear roadmaps, technical strategies, and deliver customer value.
- Build and analyze large-scale telematics data systems to detect fleet anomalies beyond individual vehicle troubleshooting.
- Oversee the delivery of security and incident workflows from detection to resolution.
- Apply ML and AI techniques, including LLMs, to create differentiated detection capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive hardware, firmware, and software experiences.
- Ensure engineering excellence, architecture quality, reliability, and high development velocity.
- Engage with customers through rapid prototyping and feedback to drive outcome-driven product improvements.
Requirements
- Six (6) years of formal people management experience in a product-driven engineering environment, including managing managers.
- A degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong technical judgment and curiosity, with the willingness to dive into complex systems and messy real-world data.
- Clear, confident communication skills that build trust across engineering, product, and cross-functional partners.
- Passion for developing engineers and building a team culture that raises the bar.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning, including building, deploying, or fine-tuning models, and the ability to guide ML work pragmatically.
- Strong understanding of the data lifecycle and how to maintain data integrity across distributed systems without creating silos.
- Experience shipping and scaling products used by large customer bases.
